Goes by: Judi or Mrs. Z
Mrs. Judi Zickefoose has been playing piano since the age of 4. During her early education, she played the violin for 10 years, sang in numerous choirs, and accompanied on piano.
During her time at Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID, Ms. Zickefoose accompanied voice students during lessons and recitals, and toured Europe on two occasions with choir. She was given the honor of being the first and only student to sing the alto solo throughout the college’s annual performance of “The Messiah”, alongside professional artists and alumni. During her senior year, Mrs. Zickefoose electively chose to perform a Senior Recital, playing Beethoven, Chopin, and Bach at the piano, as well as singing in four different languages. Mrs. Zickefoose graduated in 1984, with a Bachelor of Arts in Office Administration, as well as an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Music Education and Theory.
For greater than 30 years in the Sno-King and Marysville-Pilchuck music regions, Mrs. Zickefoose has accompanied numerous choirs and junior senior/high vocalists/instrumentalists at the local and state level. One highlight was being invited as the guest artist to play the “Rhapsody In Blue” piano solo along with the Snohomish High School Band.
Mrs. Zickefoose has enjoyed teaching private piano since 1992. The studio has ranged from 10 - 53 children and adults (aged 3 – 83), at the beginning to intermediate levels. Mrs. Zickefoose is passionate about helping students realize their potential in music through reading notes and rhythms, performing, and enjoying the music being played.
Mrs. Zickefoose is a people person! Her passion is networking others’ needs. She enjoys road trips, gardening, and board games with her family. Being on the farm with 30 chickens and Linkin (German Shepherd), dressing up as Mrs. Clause to join Santa at Christmas, and having concerts in the barn, are some of her favorites!
